Moonlight Mash is a social celebration of bicycling under the light of the full moon. Every moon, we meet at Kesey Square (Broadway and Willamette) to ride through downtown, West Jefferson, the Whiteaker, the river path, Alton Baker park, campus, and Midtown. To help keep us all together, our standard eight-mile loop has regrouping points every couple of miles. The ride goes for about an hour.

Check the blog, fb, or ig for the next ride’s theme and start time. This is also where we’ll let you know about special routes, guests, or performances.
More riders means more fun! To help every rider feel safe, Moonlight Mash yields at stop signs and stops at red lights. We never ride against traffic, and we share the streets with other people driving, biking, and walking.
Lights (front and rear), predictable riding, and a kind attitude are critical. Party lighting, helmets, hand signals, boom boxes, and costumes are even better!
Set a good example, and Ride This Way:
1. Don’t block traffic or generally get in the way of others; stop at red lights, yield at stop signs, stay in the rightmost lane NEVER ride the sidewalk. NEVER ride against oncoming traffic.
2. Ride Straight, Ride Predictably. If you need to slow down, check a text, or whatever, PULL OVER to the right to let others by before you stop.
3. Roll Past Conflict. If somebody antagonizes you, shout “Moonlight Mash” and ride away with a laugh.
4. Leave No One Behind. If you’re a more experienced rider, consider bringing your flat-fix kit; you might make somebody’s night!
5. Leave Nothing Behind.
6. It’s illegal and dangerous to ride a bicycle inebriated: be an adult and stay within safe limits.
7. Communicate to Fellow Riders! We need your help to remind folks to make this look good: on Moonlight Mash, each of us is an ambassador.
Moonlight Mash is inspired by the Bike Party model.
