Because people in Eugene, OR ride bicycles year-round, why shouldn’t our ride continue through colder, darker months? After all, when friends join together to raise their cadences, so do their body temperatures, and, most importantly, their spirits! Though our numbers on last Friday’s ride were similar to those at the ride’s inception (three years ago), those who showed rode strong; souls hardier than the chill night air.
Thanks to GEARs and the Cascadian Courier Collective for working with the ‘Mash to print and distribute posters for the coming months; it’s support like this that binds our local bicycling community together and makes it stronger.
The moon’s next rise, and our next ride, will be Sunday, January 4, at 6:00PM. Mark your calendars for a crisp, brisk ride to begin 2015!
Below are a few portraits of the two dozen or so riders who came out for the “Ugly Sweater ‘Mash.”
